Množina: bubble chambers
An instrument that records the tracks of ionizing particles.
In physics, a device for observing the nature and movement of atomic particles, and their interaction with radiations. It is a vessel filled with a superheated liquid through which ionizing particles move and collide. The paths of these particles are shown by strings of bubbles, which can be photographed and studied. By using a pressurized liquid medium instead of a gas, it overcomes drawbacks inherent in the earlier cloud chamber. It was invented by US physicist Donald Glaser 1952. See particle detector.
A chamber of superheated liquid in which the path of an ionizing particle is made visible by a string of vapor bubbles.
